PLEASE NOTE:
Pets are not allowed in the Forestry Farm Park and Zoo. Service dogs are welcome.
No outside food or drink allowed in the Zoo (you are welcome to picnic in the park). Buckeye Cafe is open from
10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.  (consult concession tab above for more hours)

The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo is open every day, except Christmas Day.

Admission is charged from April 1 to October 31. Admission is by donation during winter months from November 1 to March 31 (subject to change). 

The Toll Booth at the park entrance is in operation from May 1 until Labour Day. ($3.50 per vehicle. Buses are NOT charged a vehicle fee).
There is also a season’s parking pass available for $15 OR it’s included with your season’s pass to the Zoo!

Note: Due to COVID-19, Stroller and Wagon Rentals are not available.

Complimentary wheelchairs and scooters are available to use on a first-come, first-served basis.

Fishing Pond
Spend a relaxing afternoon with the kids and try your hand at catching a Steelhead Trout in the Forestry Farm Park Fishing Pond.
The pond is open daily for your fishing enjoyment. It was built in partnership with Saskatchewan Environment and Resource Management through the fish enhancement program. There is a two fish per person, per day limit, and they encourage catch and release.
The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo regularly stocks the fishing pond.  For complete details, call the Zoo directly at 306-975-3382.
Daily fishing permits are required. They are available at the front gate from May 1 to September 6. From September 7 to October 31, fishing permits are available at the Zoo Admission Gate.
You must supply your own equipment and bait.

Fishing Permit Prices: Adult (16+) $3, Youth (Under 16) $2.

Kinsmen Express Peoplemover (The Zoo Train): NOT AVAILABLE DUE TO COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
During your next visit to the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo, take a guided tour on the Kinsmen Express Peoplemover. Fun for children and seniors alike, the Kinsmen Express is a comfortable and exciting way to view and learn about our magnificent animals and exciting history.

Discover the zoo in style as you learn about bison and cougars, along with many other exciting animals. There are hundreds of explanations and neat things to learn about the species at Saskatchewan’s only zoo accredited by the Canada’s Accredited Zoos and Aquariums (CAZA).

The Kinsmen Express has its own sound system and is driven by a trained tour guide who gives you up-to-the-minute information on the animals and heritage. The Peoplemover is also wheelchair accessible – everyone is welcome to ride the Kinsmen Express!

Several areas of the beautiful Forestry Farm are available to rent for your special event!

HALL
With a capacity of 225 and access to large barbecues (user must supply briquettes) behind the hall and kitchen facilities, the Hall is the perfect setting for family reunions, sports team windups and office gatherings.

GAZEBO
If you’re looking for a quiet, secluded area for a small gathering, the Gazebo is the perfect place for you. Though entirely an outside facility, water and electricity services are available along with barbecues and picnic tables.

WEDDINGS IN THE PARK
Book your wedding ceremony in our beautiful garden area. Exchange your vows by an archway, with all your guests comfortably seated under the sky!

SOUTH BOOTH AND BALL DIAMOND
The south end of the park is equipped with a small building with overhang and electrical service – the ideal place to store, prepare, and serve food and beverages. An open field and baseball diamond are nearby for games. Picnic tables and a fire pit are also available (user must supply own firewood).

FORESTRY FARM HOUSE
The house has a capacity of 40 people. This award-winning, beautifully restored heritage house is the perfect location for retreats, workshops, or meetings.

LIONS’ EVENT PAVILION
This building is located within the zoo and holds up to 700 people. Only available during zoo hours.

Forestry Farm Park National Historic Site

No pets are allowed in the Forestry Farm Park and Zoo.

The Buckeye tree flourishes on the Forestry Farm. It has beautiful blossoms in the spring and the leaves turn wonderful shades with chestnuts (not edible) in the fall.
