On-Site Programs
VIRTUAL PROGRAMS: For the 2020-2021 school year, the Saskatoon Zoo Society has gone virtual! Online, interactive environmental education programming. These will include an educator from the Saskatoon Zoo Society so our programs can remain engaging and interactive. Check out our onsite program page for details.
Call us at 306-975-3395 or email us at info@saskatoonzoosociety.ca to inquire or to book.
On-site Programs take place at the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo or virtually. We offer programs that take place indoors in our classrooms at the Affinity Learning Centre (currently unavailable due to COVID), or outdoors around the zoo. Some programs are a combination of classroom presentations and outdoor walks. Call 306-975-3395 to book your program. Click Here for more information on our on-site programs.

Outreach Program
Our Outreach Program is currently unavailable due to COVID restrictions.
Our Outreach Programs run between October and April of each year. In these exciting programs, Zoo Society teachers or interpreters visit your classroom with a live animal from the Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo or biological artefacts (biofacts) from our collection. We focus the presentation on the ecology of the animal with the aim to reinforce your classroom teachings. Call 306-975-3395 to book your program.
Note: The Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo has strict regulations regarding animal visits off-site due to quarantine regulations. Please call us directly when booking an outreach program to see if its a possibility for your site.
Click here for more information on our Outreach Program.
Please note: we no longer have a supply of owl pellets to loan.
“Thank you so much for coming to visit our school. We learned so much! It was fun and fantastic. The students and staff loved every minute of it. Wow!”
Zoo School
Through unique experiences provided only at Zoo School, students will learn that all living things, including themselves, depend upon the interrelationships among plants and animals. This out-of-school experience is designed to be one that will fit within the scope of grade six curriculum in many subject areas. Call 975-3395 for more information. This is a week-long program and additional staff has to be arranged to accommodate this type of program. Program is not available in May and June.
Zoo Club
If you are interested in becoming part of our Zoo Club program please contact the Saskatoon Zoo Society (306-975-3395 or CONTACT us) to discuss an option that will work best to fit our needs and your school’s needs.
The Zoo Club program runs in a limited number of schools each year. Enrolment is on a first-come basis. This is a special 40 minute program designed to be incorporated into your school’s environment or ecology club. The program runs from October to April and consists of four appearances by a Zoo Society interpreter and an animal ambassador to discuss a variety of ecological principles associated with the creature.
Biofact Boxes
Horns, hooves, antlers, teeth, claws, fur, feathers, and more. All touchable, all designed to enhance your classroom teaching about animals. The small boxes of biological artifacts or “biofacts” are available for rent for your classroom.
Currently there are two kits to choose from:
– North American Mammals
– Birds
Kits are available for loan for $10.00. A $200 deposit will be held on a credit card and will only be processed in the event anything is missing or damaged in the kits upon return. Shipping is not included in the rental fee. Biofact Boxes are available for a 2 week loan on a first-come-first-served basis.
