Registration will open on May 10th for MEMBERS at 8:00 a.m. CST (7:00 a.m. see note) and May 17th for Non-members
Note on the time registration opens: the registration system that we use does not allow us to set it for SK time, only CST. We believe that this may push the registration time to open at 7:00 a.m. rather than 8:00 a.m. SK time. Please be aware of this when registering on May 10th.
In 2021: The Saskatoon Zoo Society is planning on running only the Bio-Bits Zoo Camp for children ages 7-12.
Spend a week at the zoo. We’ll get to know our animal friends with help from the Saskatoon Zoo Society interpreters and Saskatoon Forestry Farm Park and Zoo Zookeepers. Come and meet the animals, make some crafts, and play games all designed to have fun at the zoo. Bag lunch and 2 snacks are required each day.
Note: we have been granted permission to run our camps by the City of Saskatoon. However, if they decide to close the Zoo or deem camps unable to continue in order to meet Public Health guidelines, we will be complying and will offer full refunds for camps if that is to occur.

COVID PROTOCOLS:
It goes without saying (but we will anyways) that camp will look a bit different this year. Due to the COVID outbreak, we will be instituting a lot of new procedures and protocols to keep not only your child(ren) safe, but also our animals onsite (some of our animals can catch COVID too).
More information will be given to you upon registration, but here is a look at a few of the things that we are doing:
-camp size will be restricted to 15 children per week with 2 camp counsellors.
-camp participants and staff will be expected to wear masks at all times except during our socially-distanced meal times
-we will divide into two smaller groups as much as we can to limit the number of campers around our animals
-unfortunately, some animals will be off-limits due to their susceptibility to COVID. This means, that we will have limited animal time and we will not have the same interactions with the Zookeepers as we have in the past. We will make this experience as fun as we can with the ones we can use!
-no communal craft supplies will be provided. Instead, each camper will receive their own set of craft supplies at the start of the week, to be turned in at the end of the week for a full disinfection.
-all areas will be thoroughly disinfected at the end of each day and high-touch areas will be wiped down regularly.
-we will have protocols in place for mask removals during lunch
-as much as possible, our activities will be outdoors. Please ensure that your child(ren) is dressed appropriately and prepared for the weather to change throughout the day.
-staff training will include a new module on COVID protocols and procedures.
-due to SaskHealth regulations, we will NOT be having our regular Friday BBQ lunch at the Zoo.
